Port Aux Basques, the start of the railway I visited. It was a fishing area in 1500 and a port for ferries back in 1898! But there’s something surprising that makes this city stand out, it’s near an ocean! There’s a museum dedicated to eskimo settlement 1800 years ago! They built a lighthouse in 1871 where the French enjoyed treaty right from 1783 to 1904. There’s also a memorial for people who died in the sinking of the S.S. Caribou in 1942.
